I've wondered about it too. I've always had the strange impression that it's a very commercial networking outlet, but I'm curious too if folks in education/arts/nonprofits are using it.

call me old fashion but i don't think i could mentally handle being on another networking site and actively use it..gah! it's hard enough checking my facebook and updating my blog/following fellow bloggers. i like real business cards, something tangible.
